30 Days of Songs – Day 29

Day 29: A Song You Remember From Childhood

There are many songs I can remember hearing when I was younger but the one song I remember from actual childhood is “Come And Get your Love” by the group Redbone (and no, Leon Redbone is not associated with this group), which consisted of Native American musicians. The reason I remember this song is because this group’s double album is the first one I purchased with my own money. Over the years I’ve heard sampling of the song on the To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! – Julie Newmar soundtrack and a cover by Real McCoy. Years later the original would be part of the Guardians Of The Galaxy sountrack.
